The Business Network for Offshore Wind provides industry-leading offshore wind training. seCTer has been working to bring this workshop to the region and December, 13-15 at the Mystic Hilton, businesses and stakeholders can learn more about this oncoming industry.

On July 25th, 2022, Governor Ned Lamont announced the Connecticut Small Business Boost Fund. “The program is aimed at helping small businesses and nonprofits, particularly those in low-income and historically underserved communities, with access to flexible working capital. The loans have a fixed, 4.5% interest rate and are available to eligible small businesses and nonprofits with operations in Connecticut that have 100 or fewer full-time employees and annual revenues of less than $8 million.”

This was a fascinating panel discussion which was part of Economic Development Week. Paul Whitescarver, seCTer’s Executive Director participated to discuss the role of offshore wind in CT’s energy future.

A practical talk about renewable energy technologies, with real world examples. Our panel will discuss their projects, and examine the economic benefits and challenges to developing renewable energy projects for a town or region.
